OOC Thread of Tale Of Two Cities

Ok I'm not quite sure what the actual thread is going to be called but here was my idea anyway.

Theres a massive battle somewhere in ME. It starts juring the battle. The people (ie us) are the commanders in the army and yeah it goes from there.

Name: Johande.
Race: Human Male.
Other: He is a general of the army. Handy with any type of bow but also carries an array of knives. Some throwing knives and one or two almost a short sword.

You don't need too much character info if you don't want it. Gives more to the character later when you actually get talking.

All commanders in one army? Or are we opposing each other? Is it possible to be a grunt or do we need to be high ranking?
Is this going to be an RPG or closer to a round robin story?

Majimaune, I don't think you were here when I made it, but there's a planning thread for RPGs. Just a note.

Anyway, I don't think everyone should be a commander. Has no variations/emotion change. Sure, you can have a challenge of orders, but not direct mutiny.

I guess so but then the soldiers would have to interact with the commanders with more then just giving orders and I thought it would be easier if they where all commanders. The don't all have to be of the same rank though and of the same thing, like my guy he is the head of the archers I would think.

But go ahead and make an ordinary soldier if you want but they have to interact with the head guys as well.

Okay, but what about storyline? Is it just one battle? Maybe there could be a bit of tension before the battle with an opposing nation and that leads up to the battle. For I would like to know why they are fighting.

I like the tension thing. I will put them into A and B nation. Maybe it happened that A sent over some people to negotiate with B and B killed them. Just an idea. Hence a war seeing as the people A sent over were peaceful and not threatening B. A wanting revenge on B for killing people they shouldnt have.

I like it. Can we start with the sending of the negotiators? Seems like a good place. I'm also assuming you'll go A, and just for the fun of it I'll go B. My very own army, oooo.

Not saying exactly as I'll get in on it or not, but it might be interesting to play party C. Maybe they're the one(s) that really caused the mess in the first place?... hmmm... *wonders if there's something of value that might suddenly find itself lost*

Hey that could actually work. C sends negotiators as well and kills the ones of A and A think it was B who killed them.

Your main parties being A and B, the optional party C could be a much smaller group of people. Perhaps I'm almost seeing them as a band of outcasts or some such thing. People that are not with either of the others and could perhaps have reason to undermine one via the other?

Or maybe, as I hinted at in my last post, something was taken from party A or B by party C but niter A or B knows this and has reasons to believe it may have been the doing of the other party. Tension may have already existed but this could have brought/bring things to a nice boiling point.

Yes party C could have done anything to A or B and the A or B party could think it was the other one and not suspect C at all because they dont think that C was there or that they where not capable of it.
