So I guess that means if a Balrog is kept in a dry environment, it will not die/its fire will not go out. Throw it into a pond, it turns slimy, and give it sunlight and it will become flamey. I guess that all makes sense. So really, the Balrog relies on fire, which also means it relies on oxygen. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the air in Moria bad, so wouldn't that mean the Balrog's fire is diminished?

Yeah same.
Never thought of that erinion. Yes the air in Moria was bad (to be true in most places underground the air isnt breatheable after you go too far down). His fire was probably dimmed but not put out.
