I've noticed, that Tolkien was a faithful Catholic and I realized that the images of the basic human virtues (good, evil) in his works seem to fit with the christian symbols. For example, Melkor, the prime evil is nor evil at the beginning, he is just rebellious, and he gets "corrupted" by trying to be individual and unique. This reminds me of Satanail, the angel who refused God's rule and became the devil, just for being individual. I can think of many examples at this point, but do you think that Arda has suffered from this? From having so many common things with Christian tradition?

Tolkien and C.S. Louis' were influenced greatly by their religion. Louis with his Aslan being Christ and Tolkien with his Morgoth being the devil.

In fact, Gandalf being ressurected as Gandalf the White is based of Jesus being ressurected after being crucified.

And I do believe when Gandalf cast's Sourman out of Theoden it would be symbolizing Jesus casting a demon out of someone.
Or am I tilting my bucket here? lol

In fact, Gandalf being ressurected as Gandalf the White is based of Jesus being ressurected after being crucified. The Jesus symbolic is in HP, too. Dumbledore... Old, wise wizards dying gets a cliche. Let's hope that in the next big fantasy novel the author won't include it.
