Petrol prices have risen. Greenhouse gases will kill us. So what forms of energy are there that are available and suitable? Is there anything that might work? Should more research be done on it?
In Australia, one of the countries in the world, we use very little solar power and do little research into alternative energy sources. In Brazil, they have cars that run on alcohol. Australia has...a Toyota Yaris? Imagine everyone in the country driving one of them...
So, what is another environmental issue? Human waste (not the toilet kind). Is it possible, to even research, whether or not rubbish and garbage can be used in some way to fuel things? After all, one man's garbage is another man's treasure.

Toyota Yaris... Terrible. I am not familiar in the habits of Aussians but if this is true, than all I can say is they need to pick up the slack. In the next two centuries, Coal's gonna run out. What are they going to do then? If what you say is true Erinion, which I assume it is, than Aussians need to start paying more attention to the enviorment, or else pay the price.
Man I sound like I'm proclaming a doom or something... ;D

Never heard that one before. Yeah what Erinion says is true. Terrible isnt it. Water tanks are going up though. Doesnt help greenhouse gases though. We were going to get solar power but then it was really expesive and would take about ten years to pay off.

We were going to get solar power but then it was really expesive and would take about ten years to pay off. Solar Power IS much much more affordable than it was 10 years ago. And anyway, not just Solar Power, but Hydroelectric and Biomass sources of power. (Biomass is when you burn the waste of humanity and use that to produce steam, which in turn turns a generator)

Yes that is extreamly true. But I also live in a frost area so that when in winter the solar panels would freeze and be destroyed. So we would've had to get special ones and that added to the cost.

Yes, that is true. But there are many other forms of renewable energy out there. Hydroelectric, Biomass, Geothermal, and many more that would suit the enviorment you described Majimaune.

Yes but all much more expensive and harder to get. We do have two water tanks which is better then nothing.

Not true. Geothermal energy is a source that many enviorments allow, and it is also extrememly cheap. Hydroelectric can be efficent and cheap if you live close by and heck, there'll always be enough waste to power the world.

Too true there, my friend. Too much waste in the world.

A world powered by garbage....
I like it.

Indeed, it is a good idea. But there are also other sources of Renewable energy, but human waste is one that's guaranteed to stay So, now we know some energy alternatives, can you guys tell me just how you folkes over the forum get your source of enery? I for one get my energy by Hydroelectricity, thankfully.

Hydroelectricity, as well. Even as far north as the Yukon, we still have dams.
My house is heated by a wood boiler...perhaps not the best on the enviroment, but wood is a far cleaner energy source than oil, and renewable!

Very good. ;D
You know, Geothermal energy can also be used as your House's heat source. It's expensive to install, yes, but you do not have to pay a monthly fee, which is awesome in the longrun.

I think my house is powered by green energy cause we get our power bill from Jack Green. So it's just any green energy that is avalible at the time.

Even if there is an environmentally friendly option it'll take years to be become widely available cause the oil companies buy up things like Hydrogen cars and efficient solar power. If the whole world switched to a non oil/coal power supply then it'd fall into anarchy. The entire worlds economy would collapse. Now I'm not saying that oil and coal are good things, but we wont see a decent alternative for quite a while.
