Creeping up the stairs outside their next target's house, Glan and Farnew stood either side of the door. Pulling a wood axe from his belt, Glan silently chipped at the hinges, and the door came loose enough for Farnew to pry open. Glan set about re-attatching the door while Farnew fitted an arrow to his bow, and shot the victim in the neck, and withdrew the shot.
Walking out of the house, Farnew stared at the sky, and said to Glan, "hurry, won't you. We have to go and collect out pay by sunrise."
Glan replied that he was almost done, and that once he'd put the door on, they could be off, and would still have a few hours to get to the meeting spot.
A little over one hour later, the pair were walking through a nearby forest, and came to a small clearing. They heard a voice say, "thankyou, and you get half now, half when I am certain my enemy is dead. Come here again tomorrow at the same time, and the pay will be here if you lived up to your duty."
Picking up the bag, Glan walked back with Farnew to the lodgings of the Guild of Assassins. Announcing their success, Farnew said to the others, "we will eat for another week at least. We return to collect the rest tomorrow. How have you all gone? Any recruitments?"
"And by that he means any targets, not new members," Glan amended.

Laughter spilled into the ally and then faded away again as a heavy door clicked shut. Very few had seen the simple looking figure, and those that had... it would only be a little while before the memory was cleaned neatly away under a wash of ale.
As was her style, there was no time spent on cleaning up as there was simply no need of it. Whoever found him would wonder at first if he was still sleeping. Most likely only starting to wonder and intrude well after the face and presence of what seemed to have been a unremarkable, almost charmingly shy young woman had slipped from all minds as easily as if she had never been there in the first place.
Deep blue eyes moved calmly over the shadowed buildings. Sharp ears alert to every sound as padded feet carried the darkly dresses figure through a maze of walkways, allies and unlit back streets. Only once she was sure that no one had bothered following her -not that anyone had yet to try- Nalla removed a dark cloth from her head and shoulders; the first glow of dawn's light touching the tied back length of her brown hair as she entered the Guild’s door.
Hearing of the other’s success and then their question, a curl formed in the corner of her mouth. “Well that depends, doesn’t it.” A flick of her wrist tossed the cloth into a corner. “Do you still not count anything perrrsonal?” A short breath sounded; almost a laugh if not for its dark undertone.
Not pausing by the closed door, she moved further into the room and towards a pillowed seat at a low table. An exaggerated thud sounded as a yet unopened bottle was set down heavily; the cork popped out smoothly by the edge of a dagger that could have come from anywhere.

A dark shadow watched as Nalla disappeared into the Guild safe house. The allyway was already shrouded in shadows cast by the dull morning light, and in the darkest corner lurked Borred. He sat with his back against the wall (so noone could put a knife there), and wrapped the shadows around him like a cloak. He had a cloak too. Not black one like those worn by ameture assassins who thought black was cool. Borred's cloak was grey, woven by a skilled Elf weaver who gave it to Borred just before suffering an unfortunately accident, or was it after the accident? No matter. Slowly he got to his feet and walked across to the door, without a sound it opened, and Borred slipped inside silently. "Boo! Did you miss me?" He chuckled at himself and fell into one of the armchairs scattered around the room. "No new recruits or marks. Just a couple of fools who didn't notice their purses go for a walk," he tossed a few coin purses onto the table, the coins inside clinking loudly as the landed. "A few days worth there. No rich picking today."

Straag was watching all of them come in. He was sitting in a chair in the shadows.
"Actually we do have some one," he said in a voice that was barely a whisper but was heard throughout the room. "His name is Johande. He will need to be dealt with soon."
There was a murmur in the room. Obviously the others hadn't noticed him there, not that they usually did.

“Well who is he Straag.” Said Arkay jumping down gracefully from the rafters his red eyes almost glowing in the fire light, he had been catching rats
“Johande nice name” He said throwing the a rat into the fire he stood there watching the rat die for a second then looked around “what”

Nalla almost shuttered at the sounds of the dieing rodent and found herself picturing it make a flying leap from the flames to through the building, setting it all ablaze.
She set down the bottle after another gulp and looked across the dimly lit room. "Finer names can bring poorer gains... You should know every little street-rat around her has the name of some duke or something somewhere." Dark eye stayed on the drink before her. "Every mother thinks her little one is...one..." She blinked heavily and didn't bother to hide the yawn. Having been awake as long as she had, along with hardly eating, the wine was starting to get to her head; just as she'd hoped it would. "What's the admission for this one though? Enough to get him a good room?...” She nearly sneered at the last.

"Do you always have to do that Arkay? Anyway, Johande is an ambassador for a city. He is going to another city. These two places have been at peace for a while although they are not alies. Our objective is to plunge them into war. Is that enough information?"

Glan and Farnew exchanged amused glances.
"So we're starting a war? Let's think. We have no proper shelter, proper resources. So, what have we got to lose? The first people to be asked to join to fight are people like us, and if we say no, we'll either be cast into jail for something, or else asked why, and we can't exactly give a reason," Glan said.
"Yes, what's the pay? Enough to get out of the way? Farnew added. "For if it is, I say let's do it."

"Well its about 10000 gold coins so that should hide us and get us through everything after. Is that satisfactory for you?" Straag settled back into his chair and waited for a reply.

"10,000 gold? Sure I'm in," Borred chimmed in. "Besides, it's not like either side could ever find us unless we wanted to be found. That said though, there might be some good money to be made fighting in a war, you can bet they'll be looking to hire skilled assassins and mercenaries." He looked around at the rest of the group, "we could make quite a killing here." Chuckling slightly at his pun he sat back to see what the others thought.

Nearly empty, the wine bottle hummed as it was set down heavily for the last time. Darkened by more then her lack of sleep, the woman's half closed eyes stayed lowered. "Take the job if you want it. You 'men' can fight all you like;" Nalla sat unmoving; hunched over the low table with one hand propped up between table top and her forehead. "but as always" she continued "the only ones that will gain from such things are the scavengers..."

Glan and Farnew, interested, agreed to take part. After all, it was hardy anything different from what they already did.

"Where are we going? After we've made the kill?" Farnew said.
OOC: sorry, this is completely off topic and irrelevant but for some reason I now have 30 seconds to Mars song in my head...BURY ME BURY ME!
