As the three conversed ceaselessly, Onto started to get aggravated at the slack of service. Suddenly though, the ground started to shake slightly, tremors that resembled a beast gone wild stirring from a nightmare. But just as it started, it stopped. Dismissing the occurence as anything ordinary, Onto started to clear his throat.

Eyes widen still as glasses still clicked together lightly, Gavin was quick to look around at the sound of another voice. "Good day sir. Have you not been helped yet?" The innkeep's back was turned to her and he didn't see the little face peek out of the kitchen.
Covered by a light dusting of flower, Nalla's green eyes looked that much bigger between whitened cheeks and forehead. Seeing the man that had come in earlier -an inpatient expression now on his face- she was quite glad for the mess as she felt her face grow warm. thoughtless fool! Should know better by now. She scolded herself as she ducked back into the kitchen to clean up the bowl of flower that had been spilled.
"Thought I had that Nalla better trained by now..." He almost sighed. "Please, what would be your pleasure?" Gavin waved a broad hand at the row of bottles and kegs behind him.

Expression softening, Onto smiled, amused by the duo's startlement. " Yes, well, if there is any heartwine available, I'll gladly take some. Or if not, panie will suffice....
"cuse my misuse of language, but panie is water. "

Fair-Haven bit her lip to hold back her curiosity when she realized the other customer was also like her wanting something refreshing.
She looked at him and nodded a little in apology for not waiting for him to be served before she ran off at the mouth in conversation.
She couldn't help but find herself extremely intrigued by this 'Legend'.

"Heartwine?" He looked almost surprised by the query. Just as quickly as it had come to his expression though, it had gone. "Well a'corse. I'll not be a moment then." Gavin stepped towards the far corner of the bar, pulled open an out-of-the-way cabinet door and reached in.
A heavy thud sounded as he set a thick, dark red glass bottle on the counter. "Don't get too many looking for this now-a-days." Thick froth came just short of over flowing a large mug as it was filled. The covering of bubbles all but vanished as soon as the flow was stopped, leaving the dark liquid bare to glitter cooly in the light.
Setting the mug down for his guest, Gavin stepped back and rubbed his hands on the corner of his apron. "Is there anythin' else I can do for either of you?"

Fair-Haven sighed as she pushed her bowl back from her and leaned back into her chair to finish off her wine.
"Now, what of this legend you spoke of earlier?" Her eye's lit with curiosity as she waited for Gavin to explain.

Taking his laughing eyes off the darkly dressed man, his eyebrows raised questioningly. "hm? oh. oh yes. Well, I suppose I can try tellin' something about it." Gavin nearly flashed a half grin, the storyteller in him quickly coming to the surface.
"If you came up by the east rode, you may have caught sight of a thiner patch of trees not far up in the hills from where you're sitting. There's still hardly anyone that would dare go up there. Pillars of stone stand like warning posts on either side of the caves opening; some have said you can still see marks on them from when it lived there. A grate red beast. Claws of the sharpest, hardest stuff ever made and long, hungry teeth to match.
It had lived here so long, hunting and fiercely guarding his grounds, that everyone called this place by the only thing they knew it by. The shape of the beast's sunning spot. Just up from the cave entrance, you'd still see it if not for some of the trees having been able to grow back. It may have been of the beast's own making or placed there by some other means (there's a wagon load of stories just around that!) but the throne still stands."
No one had really noticed the kitchen door being inched open and shining eyes being fixed on the heavy build of the innkeeper.

Her eyes glazed over till the dark green turned a softer hue. "What an intruging tale." she emptied her glass and placed next to it a few gold coins. "Well, it is getting late and I feel the need to rest now."
Fair-Haven sighed heavily. "I bid you all a fair night and peacful sleep."
She walked up to Gavin and held out the gold for the night's pay.

Trading the coin for an engraved key, he told her where to find the room. "And you only need ask me or or that Nalla girl if have need of anything." He bid her a good night and turned back to making sure everything was kept clean and and in its place.
As Gavin's story faded back from her mind, Nalla blinked and looked around quickly. "Ah!" A hand come over her mouth to stop the sound. She sprang silently to her feet and dashed back across the kitchen to where the rising dough was about to spill over the edge of its bowl. Why must you keep letting this happen? Quickly flowered hands pushed into the sticky mass. It was too long ago. Just let it go away like everything else. Little balls were rolled and set on a cooking tray. Just move on... The tray was pushed onto a rack over a fire. You're good at that... A sticky hand was turned, the less messy back used to brush an itch from her face.

Fair-Haven picked up her bag she had set beside the door upon entering and looked at the number on the key as she trodded up the stairs towards her room. Walking down the dimly lit hallway looking at the pictures on each side of the wall as she looked for the number to match her key.
"There we are," she placed the key into the hole and turned it till she heard a click. She twisted the handle and pushed open the door slowly as she walked in to look over the room. Very simple arrangement, but nicely furnished. She could smell the outside woods. She shut, bolted and locked the door behind herself. She layed her bag arossed the bed and went over to the long thin window on the opposite side of the room and opened it.

Careful to keep an eye on the rolls, Nalla started working on the sweetened cream that would be served with them. A yawn catching her off guard, she blinked and shook it off, her gaze drifting over to a window. There had been more to the tail. Something Gavin hadn't brought up. Something that Nalla's mind drifted to as she looked out at a darkening forest and hills.
Few really knew if there was any truth in it, but everyone knew that the beast had been one to gather things. Everything that glittered or made music had been striped from those that were unlucky enough to draw the dragon's attention. There were always those that could pass through, bringing stories of what they said they saw. But only a few ever tried to settle near the foot hills and thick forests. She had heard stories About the men that had tried to defend what little they had. Men that come from many places and all to the same end. No one really knew for sure, but no one would question the stories of treasure hidden away in the caves. No one thought anyone would dare to find out. No one really knew...
Moonlight glittered in deep green eyes before the smell of browned bread snapped the figure back to attention. Pulling the rolls from the oven, the girl's thoughts slipped away from the adventure and spun lazily around getting a few more things done before it got any later.

She looked out over the surrounding forrest with deep appreciation.
She turned and walked back into the room and dimly lit the lamp on the right table next to the bed. She sat her bag upstraight and opened it. After a few moments of searching she pulled out a small pouch and in turn also opened it. checking to make sure all contents were still there she sighed heavily and firmly tied the pouch to her belt.
Back over to the window she walked, leaning out over the edge she found a good amount of noocks, crannies and ivy she could use to climb down. Wrapping her cloak about her upper body out of the window and down the wall she climbed.
Hitting the ground with a small bounce she ducked and looked around to make sure no one was in sight. Once certain everything was clear she sprang for the woods swiftly and with little effort she put the inn behind her quickly.

Quieted yawns were becoming stronger with the growing darkness; eyes darkened with weariness blinked slower as the girl finished putting things out to cool and settle for the night. There would be more then enough to go around in the morning. Little aches starting to have come back, Nalla stretched carefuly and wondered if she would bother checking with Gavin before slipping off to her room.

A few hours later
Uncertain of the time a very weary and tired Fair-Haven pulled herself up and into her window.
Shutting the window and the curtain behind her, she plopped down on the edge of her bed. She pulled off her boots and layed her cloak on the chair next to the bed. Turning over, she rested for what was the remainder of the night.
